What Uni Lab stores
Uni Lab is an invited trial run by one person. This page says what the app keeps about you, for how long, and what reaches the AI that answers as Una. Last updated 1 November 2026.

Your account
- An account name chosen with the person who runs Uni Lab, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash). No email address, real name, phone number, school or age is collected or asked for.
- A sign-in session cookie that lasts 8 hours. Uni Lab uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- Forgotten passwords are reset by the person who runs Uni Lab, in person or over a channel you both already use.
What you write and make
- Chats with Una, including the questions and explanations you send in lessons. Each message is deleted 90 days after it was sent, or as soon as you delete the chat. A deleted chat cannot be reopened and is removed from online storage within 24 hours.
- Your latest draft of each lesson activity (Python code, assistant instructions, captions). Drafts stay until you reset them or your account is deleted; there is no edit history.
- Your participation records, earned awards and course exam scores. They stay with your account and do not depend on chats. Nothing here is a grade of you as a person.
- Feedback you send through the Feedback page, with any excerpt you chose to attach. Reports are deleted 90 days after submission.
What reaches the AI
- Una’s replies come from a single AI provider, OpenAI, through its API. When you send a message, Una receives that message, the relevant lesson material, your attached work (for example your code and its labelled run result) and a bounded number of recent messages from the same chat. Nothing is sent when you only edit, save or run code.
- Requests are made with storage disabled on the provider side, and under its API terms the provider does not use API data to train its models. The provider may keep limited abuse-monitoring logs for a short period under its own policy; Uni Lab cannot delete those on your behalf.
- Una does not browse the web, does not see your other chats, and never asks for personal details. Please keep names, addresses and other personal information out of what you type.
Where and who
- The application and its database run on one server in Canada operated for the person who runs Uni Lab. Nightly backups are kept on that server for 14 days and deleted afterwards.
- Only the person who runs Uni Lab can access accounts, and only to help with sign-in, to review feedback, or to delete an account on request. They do not read chats as a matter of routine.
- To delete your account and everything linked to it, ask the person who invited you. Deletion removes your chats, drafts, progress, awards and feedback; it does not recall data already processed by the AI provider.
Who Uni Lab is for
- This trial is for invited learners aged 14 and over who read English. If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian should know you are taking part and can ask the same questions or request deletion.
- Questions or concerns: use the Feedback page after signing in, or contact the person who invited you.
